28th October - National Day in Greece
October 28th was a National holiday in Greece. We celebrated the ΟΧΙ (No) Day.
In
1940 Greece refused to accept the Italian ultimatum advanced by Benito
Mussolini, to allow the Italian fascist troops to enter the country. The
following military campaign was successful defeating the
Italian troops into the Albanian territory.
Six months later Greece was defeated and occupied by the German military
forces.
On that day parades take place in every town.
We paraded in our village.
